Posters in Washington State Capitol claim gun laws are just like anti-gay discrimination. Just no.

Just yes.

If you believe you cannot limit one’s right to marry, you cannot also not extend that belief to one’s right to keep and bear arms. I mean I guess you could if you were a massive hypocrite.

Plus, if you believe that gay individuals are so discriminated against would it not be best for those people to be able to defend themselves, hold the source of power of the people (yes, guns are the source of the people’s power; if you doubt me, go reexamine history).

Rightsided is right here.  If you limit the second amendment cause you don’t like guns then you should be able to limit other things like gay marriage on the basis of not liking them.  Of course, there’s no reason to limit guns other than the fact that you don’t like them because guns only save like 78 billion people every 3 seconds.  Also it’s not like the second amendment is already constrained in any way right?  I personally choose to defend my rights with fully automatic weapons, oh wait.

But in all seriousness this isn’t the same.  There aren’t rational reasons to be against gay marriage beyond your dislike of it.  Conversely there are rational reasons to be in favor of some degree of gun control whether you want to keep things they way they are (no full auto’s) or you want to limit clip sizes etc.  There are also rational reasons be be against gun control although I personally find them less compelling.  Ultimately, the point isn’t about whether you like guns or not, it’s about what rationale you find more convincing, whereas I have yet to hear one rational argument against gay marriage.

Lastly, nothing about gun control entails the elimination of people’s right to keep and bear arms.  Control is not nullification, so gay, straight and all the rest can keep their guns.  I also think the idea of shooting people to somehow get your marriage recognized is a bit silly.

Yeah, if we do not limit “clip sizes” people could just run around with guns like these:

Nobody needs a 30 round clip. If you are going to talk about the subject, learn the basic terminology.

So you are arguing that we should just forget about protecting the Second Amendment, because they have already done what you clearly see as infringing upon it (although you agree with the restrictions). Yeah, that makes no sense whatsoever…

You would have to be delusional not to be able to see that many gun control advocates what to see the right to keep and bear arms eliminated.

It is not about shooting people to get you marriage recognized; it is making the point that if you see this one thing a right, you cannot turn around and tell others that they must surrender their other rights to the government.
